My friends have done wonders with this collection of stone buildings, they took me to see, two years ago
Should we buy? they cried... Yes! I said, I would!... this place has it!.. its perfect for you ..It has everything, a gite, stables, lovely old barns and outbuidings and a home for you both.
Its has lots of features, all the original old oak beams, a prune oven, area for BBQ's all perfectly situated around a courtyard and set in over 5 acres of woodland.
Two years on, and what a transformation! As you drive into the courtyard and swing the car round to the stables, you at once feel the enveloping authentic atmosphere and taste the magic and the colours of french country life.......as it should be!

Kitty & Murphy offer you their 1 bedroom gite, which overlooks the courtyard, but has its own pretty and totally private garden, accessed from the living room and around the back, with garden terrace, furniture, sunbeds and parasol and BBQ, trees, lawn and shrubs. The pretty stone cottage, offers you an oak beamed and tiled double bedroom, with ensuite shower room. A tiled living room with pitched and beamed ceiling, tastefully furnished with a sofabed, woodstove, stereo cd player, satellite kitchen/ dining area, equipped with fridge freezer, cooker,microwave,kettle coffee machine. Area Details The property has good walks all around and is just 5 mins drive (or 20 mins walk) to the Montcuq swimming lake, with sandy beaches under shady trees. A further 5 mins drive is the lively village of Montcuq the sunday market, is one of the top 100 markets in france for ambiance, which attracts many tourists and french alike.
While away a few hours in one of the many cafes in the square and watch the world go by as we do!
Montcuq is a lively and popular village with many fetes and musical evenings and the Bastille day spectacle, is seen on television throughout france! .... not to be missed.
The surrounding area is a delight and quite a special part of SW France with beautifully restored bastide hilltop villages, small farms, white limestone houses against azure blue skies , lush green fields interspersed with sunflowers, lavender, linseed, and crops like maize, millet, wheat, garlic, melons, apples and prunes.
Cahors, the medievil capital of the Lotis 25 mins drive. Visit the Resistance museum, art galleries, the old town, take the Petite train, see the Pont Velentre, night markets, antique fairs, good resturants and excellent wines!
This area has a wealth of activities, good horseriding, walking, fishing, cycling, ballooning swimming, tennis, crazy summer fetes and markets, wine tastings and famous wine route along the Lot river.
But its real speciallity is, just to soak up the peace and tranquility, the clean air and the unspolit countryside and apreciate the feel good factor!
A gastronomic region rich in fresh healthy produce and famous for truffles and duck.
The Lot is the gateway to the south, enjoying a hotter dryer climate than the Dordogne.
